so work is killing me. KILL. ING. ME. as in my jaw is sore because i think i've been clenching it subconsciously.
great.
because i don't think that's something i've ever done before. usually i store my stress in my shoulders, so it's good to know that i'm moving on to malign other body parts with stress.
i've decided that i need to get back to my creative stuff. i need some tasks that make *me* happy. i need achievable goals that will bring me a sense of accomplishment and pride.
in summary, i need to finish some of the projects that i left hanging last fall. here are a few i've been eying...
the slipcover
yes, you may have thought i finished it, because i cleverly cropped out the bottom in photos like this one:
but if you look at other photos, you can see that raw edge more easily...
i still have plenty of fabric, and it would be a pretty quick fix to put a skirt on the bottom, or even just to turn up the bottom as a hem.
the ottoman
you might remember that i used a little slipcover to make our rubermaid storage into an ottoman that matched our new look. this one *also* lacks a hem. and that's a super quick fix.
the ottoman pillows
you might remember that i started to cover the red pillows that go on top of of the ottoman with the fabric shown below:
i started one, and did some fun navy blue piping on it, and then never finished it. [i really think i have a problem not finishing projects, and might need to go to a support group.] this project isn't a *quick* fix, but it will be super rewarding, because the finished product is going to be oh. so. cool.
painting the tv table
and there's always that almost all-painted tv table that i started, on a whim, two weeks ago.
i don't have any good photos of it yet. it looks pretty good, and it's an improvement, even if i don't *love* it. yet. i need to put some kind of top coat on it too. i need to research this.
also? i bought a pillow and fabric last weekend to try and make steve a back-support pillow for the couch. how much work did i do on that one? i washed the fabric.
so yeah ... i need a creative outlet so that i can unclench my jaw, and relax a wee bit. and i think that wrapping these projects up is just what the doctor ordered. i mean, after all, that was the initial point of the home decor stuff when i started this here blog ... and it helped me last fall. so it's time to get the sewing machine out again.
wish me luck :)

You can do it! I also have a horrible time with starting projects and not finishing them. It's something I've been working on. But sometimes (for me anyway) it's kind of nice when I have a bunch of half finished projects. Because they all finish up so fast, it's very rewarding! I hope your job quiets down soon :(
